Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Eta Mu Omega Chapter During the cotillion year six scholarships are awarded and during the off-year, two $500.00 scholarship to two female African American high school seniors who plan to attend a 4-year college. American Cancer Society North Central Indiana Area Service Center Scholarships are available annually, based on financial need. Academic performance, community service, and leadership qualities are also taken into account. All applications will be reviewed by a volunteer review committee. To qualify, applicants must be: A cancer survivor age 20 and under. A U.S. citizen and legal resident of Indiana and Michigan. Fred A. Bryan Collegiate Students Fund Through Norwest Bank Indiana, N.A. Scholarships granted to male residents of South Bend, Indiana graduating from high schools in the City of South Bend. Grants based upon scholastic achievement, moral character and financial need. Preference given to applicants who have Boy Scout service experience. Granger Business Association Ten $1,000 scholarshps to area students. Criteria include (but not limited to) academics, extra-curricular activities, volunteer work and personal narratives. Hazel Dell Neff Smelser Scholarship Fund Through First Source Bank Scholarships to students who are majoring in music and who graduate from public and parochial schools in Marshall or St. Joseph counties in Indiana. Application due February 15. Summer Music Study Scholarships available to all incoming high school freshman and high school students who attend a public or parochial school in St. Joseph and Marshall counties. Indiana Black Expo, South Bend Chapter IBE Scholarship Program awards scholarships to students who will attend post secondary and graduate institutions. The IBE Scholarship Program is designed to recognize students who are Indiana residents and have attained outstanding scholastic achievement. Undergraduate recipients are awarded up to $1,000 and graduate students can receive up to $1,500 in financial assistance. For more information, go to the Indiana Black Expo Youth Scholarships. Indiana University Alumni Club of St. Joseph County This $500 award is given to two graduating high school seniors who best exemplify dedication to education and personal achievement. Students must attend an Indiana University campus in the fall. Junior League of South Bend, INC. A scholarship for $500/year for a maximum of 4 years (total of $2,000) as long as the minimum college GPA of 3.0 is met is available to a female applicant who is involved in volunteer work and exemplifies the mission of the Junior League. Kappa Kappa Kappa, Beta Gamma Chapter Scholarships to a current or prospective student at a local college or trade school (i.e. IUSB, Bethel College, Notre Dame, Saint Mary's, Holy Cross, and Ivy Tech. Applicant must be a resident of Penn, Harris or Madison township. Financial need is a criterion. Application forms can be obtained in area high school guidance offices. Ladies of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College Scholarship fund to aid one student from the University of Notre Dame and one student from Saint Mary's College is given annually. Eligibility requirements: must be women faculty and administrative women for Notre Dame, Saint Mary's College or wives of faculty and administrative staff from the same. Nelson P. Bowsher Foundation Through Norwest Bank Indiana Scholarships granted to graduating seniors from St. Joseph County, Indiana high schools for college education. Grants based upon scholastic achievement, moral character, and financial need. Grants are automaticlly renewable for four years upon receipt of favorable grades.
